Kansas City Wedding | El Torren | Josh and Jade Rainbow Wedding

The pitter-patter of raindrops, a magical bride, and a radiant rainbow—things that merged magically to create an unforgettable wedding.

As a wedding photographer, there are days that etch themselves into your memory, Josh and Jade’s was one of those days. The day when nature decided to create a scene for a couple deeply in love, will always stay with me.

Embracing the Rain

Rather than letting the rain dampen this couples spirit, they embraced it. Every raindrop became a storyteller, adding depth and emotion to each captured moment. The bride and groom, wrapped in each other's arms, laughed under umbrellas.  Which made these photos even more magical.

A Burst of Color in the Sky

As the bride and groom laughed and stole kissed, a rainbow emerged. The sudden burst of colors in the sky mirrored the vibrancy of the couple's love.  We all stood in awe for a moment, then captured these stunning moments.

The Bookstore Journey

Then ask the sun set, we decided seeking shelter from the rain was the best option.  I had a vision earlier in the day as the rain started, a charming bookstore, its shelves filled with literary treasures that would fit this whimsical bride. The vintage charm of the bookstore provided an perfect backdrop. The bride, with her timeless beauty, surrounded by classic novels, went beyond my vision I had painted in my head earlier. Each click of the camera captured not just an image but art—a forever capturing this couples truly fairytale day.

In the realm of wedding photography, it's moments like these that reaffirm the magic of love. Nature in the midwest, with its unpredictable moments, added layers to the couple's story, etching it with unforgettable moments for this stunning couple.

As a witness to this epic love story, I am reminded that amidst the storms and rainbows, love persists.

Also, this is a sign to hire a photographer that has a vision that is flexible and ideas to work with your day.  We didn’t plan on the rain, but it turned out more magical than we could’ve had planned.  I didn't just capture moments; I captured a true beauty of emotions, and a timeless tale of a redheaded bride, a dapper groom with vintage charm, a rainbow and a bookstore—a tale that will forever remain in their hearts that they will be able to show their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Photography is not merely about freezing moments in time; it's about painting stories that linger, stories that follow across generations.

Capturing Love Under the Harvest Moon: A Magical Barn Wedding at Weston Red Barn Farm

The air is crisp, the leaves are painted in hues of amber and gold, and the full moon casts its enchanting glow over the rustic barn and rolling hills.. It's the perfect setting for an October wedding with a couple that’s been in love since high school.

I had the honor of capturing the heartwarming union of Nathan and Jenna in a picturesque barn wedding in Weston, Missouri at Weston Red Barn Farm that was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the serene countryside, this celebration was full of love, joy, and the stunning beauty of fall.

By far these first looks were the most precious and genuine moments that I adored capturing.

A Love Story Painted in Picturesque Moments

I was thrilled to capture these affectionate glances, the shared laughter, and the genuine connection between Nathan and Jenna. Against the backdrop of a rustic barn adorned with Edison lights, their love story unfolded beautifully. From stolen kisses amidst the cows to hand-in-hand walks under the luminous full moon, every moment was PURE magic.

Fun Fact. Nathan had only two photos he wanted for the day, one of which was with the cows.  I was thrilled with this request because I grew up on a hobby farm and adore all animals, especially cows.

When you hire me as your photographer, my passion lies in preserving love stories through timeless imagery. Through my camera, I strive to encapsulate not just moments but emotions—freezing in time the laughter, the tears of joy, and the overwhelming love. Just like in the following photos.

Here is a controversial opinion

Here is a controversial opinion. You don’t have to go over the top to propose.

You don’t have to go over the top to propose.

It doesn’t have to be the biggest, fanciest or craziest experience of your life.

If you are the rad couple that would love a flash mob, DO IT. Because it’s you.

But if you aren’t, don’t feel the pressure to plan “the best, most expensive moment of our lives” if it isn’t  authentically you as a couple or makes you both uncomfortable.

I think it’s more significant to have a personalized  moment that you will both treasure for the rest of your lives.

Plan a moment that is special to you and your partner, it can be the place you had your first kiss, your first date, an activity that you love to do together, a new experience if you love to do new things together, a place you’ve dreamed of going together or a favorite hiking spot.   Long story short, if you know you and your s/o will connect over the moment, it’ll be beautiful and the best proposal for YOU BOTH as a couple.
