You may have thought, why would I hire a professional photographer when you can have a friend take photos and save some money?  It is tempting for obvious reasons, but here are 3 reasons to hire a professional photographer that you may not have thought of.

  1. They will make you feel at ease in front of the camera - You won’t feel awkward when you are having your pictures taken. A skilled elopement/wedding photographer will give you guidance, encouragement and laugh with you!

2. They will make booking, picking a location and photo delivery stress free - A professional will have a workflow that makes it easy to book, knowledge of the best locations and painless delivery of your dream photos!

3. Your photos will be high quality. When you hire a seasoned professional, they know what is the best light, the best equipment and are competent with professional grade software.

To sum it up, I’ve never heard someone say they regretted hiring a high quality profession instead of a friend/family member.   You’ll have memories captured that bring back positive memories of the day and that time of your life.  Do research and hire someone you can 100% trust that will give you treasured memories!

You just got engaged. You’re planning a wedding. There are SO MANY details to plan. The venue, colors, food, DJ, florist, caterers, the dress, decorations and the photographer to capture IT ALL. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming so here are some tips and tricks when looking for a wedding photographer to make it less stressful for you!

  1. Look at ALL of their social media - Instagram, Facebook, Website etc. There you can see their consistent style, what clients are saying and more importantly how do they respond to their clients? Because that will be you!

  2. Ask for a full wedding gallery to view. Photographers will just put their BEST WORK on their social media. So you want to make sure they are skilled at taking pictures of your entire day.

  3. Ask for an in person/virtual meeting consultation. This is an excellent way to see if they are professional, personable and if your personalities will mesh well. They maybe an excellent photographer, but if their personality rubs you the wrong way, you don’t want that aura on your wedding day.

  4. When messaging/talking with them do they communicate well? You will want someone that can clearly articulate and help you make your day easier.

  5. Make sure they have a contract. The last thing you need on the day of your dreams is a photographer that doesn’t show up or bails out 1 week before. This will keep you safe and ensure your day will be beautifully captured by a professional.

Does anyone else have some tips and tricks? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
